Becoming an ENERGY STAR partner
Whether you are a manufacturer, retailer or customer, your organisation can share in the success of ENERGY STAR by joining the National ENERGY STAR programme and becoming an ENERGY STAR Partner. This means you can use the ENERGY STAR logo to attract customers and promote your organisation as environmentally aware.
The National ENERGY STAR programme is an initiative of Australian, State and Territory government agencies to encourage the use and purchase of ENERGY STAR office equipment and consumer electronics.
Joining the programme involves signing a voluntary Partnership Agreement, with the Australian Greenhouse Office, who manages the programme on behalf of all Australian Governments.
Manufacturing partners
- sell equipment which is ENERGY STAR compliant, with this capability enabled
- provide ENERGY STAR information to retailers and consumers
- promote their involvement in the ENERGY STAR programme.
Retailer partners
- sell ENERGY STAR compliant products
- educate their sales people about the benefits of ENERGY STAR products
- help their customers to identify ENERGY STAR products
Customer partners
- implement a policy which ensures ENERGY STAR compliant equipment is purchased
- ensure that ENERGY STAR features are enabled wherever compliant equipment already exists on the premises
- undertake to educate employees about the features and benefits of activating ENERGY STAR features and procuring ENERGY STAR products
- provide information to the National ENERGY STAR programme about energy and financial savings made due to their actions under the agreement.

Email the Australian Greenhouse Office if your organisation would like to join. We can provide you a copy of the Partnership Agreement you will need to sign and guidelines on use of the ENERGY STAR name and logo.
